That sound you're hearing all over Guilford County today is coming from parents who are cheering and sighing as they send their children back to school.
But you may also be picking up a low grumbling sound, if our experience is anything like that of other parents.
Here's a photo of my daughter waiting for her school bus (accompanied by Sweetfoot, whose nickname is Jabba the Cat, for obvious reasons). After waiting 40 minutes, we gave up and drove her to school.

Again? Didn' that happen last year? Why does this happen? Geeez. I walked to school when I was a kid. Walking is great - you never have to worry about the bus!
