Get Your Neighborhood Viagra Here

I maintain my neighborhood's website, but only occasionally check the site statistics. It's usually a pretty sleepy corner of the web, getting a few hits per day.

Imagine my surprise and delight when I checked the stats last night and saw that in September it was getting hundreds, sometimes thousands of hits per day. Interest in historic neighborhoods must be growing!

Uh, no. Some sleazy spam peddler had hacked our site and posted hundreds of Viagra ads in one of our folders.

Hmmm ... maybe I'll just put "Viagra" in the tags at the neighborhood site ... and now I wonder how many Google hits this post is going to generate.

Spam sucks. I moderate a site for a friend, and I swear, I spend more time every week than I should have to spend deleting spam. Usually it's from people who either want to sell viagra or who are looking for group sex. :-/

Changing the subject...I just went to your neighborhood website and looked at some of the pictures from the Night Out. In one of the pictures, did I see a METAL slide n the background? Metal? Really? Metal, not plastic? If that's a metal slide, I'm going to start hanging out in your neighborhood! My son can't use plastic slides while he's wearing his processor because the static can zap the computer program. He can, however, use metal slides, but they're almost impossible to find. In this family, we LOVE metal slides! Hey, if you guys ever decide to get rid of that slide and replace it with a plastic one, please, please, please let me know. If you ever get rid of it we might be interested in purchasing it. Thanks.

Sorry, Kim. Since that photo was taken, the city has removed the metal slide and replaced it with a plastic play set.
